Get your site listed

In order to get your website in the market you need to get it listed in the major search engines.  However, showing up in the regular listings of the search engines is no easy task.  All the search engines on the Net change the criteria that they use in their algorithms regularly.  Despite this, it is still possible to get your site listed, especially if you follow the expert advice given in this site. 

Firstly submit your website to the main search engines such as, Google, Yahoo, MSN, and AOL.  Each of these search engines has a feature in their site that allows you to submit your website.  However, be sure not to submit your website to all of them at the same time as they do not like it when people auto submit and thus, they will not index you.  You should submit to each of them one at a time f you want a chance of getting rated.

A good tip is to try to get other rated/listed sites that are relevant to yours to link to your website.  This can be done by you offering to exchange links with them.  Try putting keywords that people search for into your website in order to up the chances of yours appearing.  However, make sure that your keywords still make sense and read in a sentence.  Finally, a major tip is to turn off your flash intro as the search engines will not list you if it is turned on.
